Why one platform

The problem isn't your tools. It's the gaps between them.

Three systems, five logins, three invoices. Or one system, at a fraction of what competitors charge, where every trip, squawk and risk score lives on the same record.

01 · WHAT THE TYPICAL STACK COSTS

Compare three-year cost, not the first invoice.

  • Three contracts, three renewal dates.

A separate scheduler, maintenance tracker and SMS tool, plus add-ons, each with its own terms and its own price increase.

  • Multi-year terms and per-unit fees.

Long commitments, per-report and per-module charges, and features you only find out are extra after you've signed.

  • The hidden cost is your people's time.

Every fact that lives in two systems is typed twice, checked twice, and reconciled when the two disagree.

Direct2 replaces all of it, at a fraction of what competitors charge.

02 · THE SEAMS

The seams are where errors live.

Each tool can be good at its own job. The risk sits in the handoff: the phone call, the second login, the number typed in from a printout.

  1. Re-keyed squawks

    ✕ IN THE PATCHWORK
The pilot calls it in. Someone writes it down, someone else types it into the tracker, and the discovery time is whatever got typed.
    ▸ ON ONE RECORD
Reported once from the crew app, with discovery time kept apart from entry time. Maintenance sees it right away.
  2. Deferrals dispatch can't see

    ✕ IN THE PATCHWORK
The MEL clock runs in the tracker. The trip is quoted and sold in the scheduler, which doesn't know the item is open.
    ▸ ON ONE RECORD
Maintenance owns the deferral. The ops board, the quote and the FRAT read it, with the clock counting down.
  3. Hours typed twice

    ✕ IN THE PATCHWORK
Once for billing, once for the due list. When they don't match, nobody knows which one the inspection date was built on.
    ▸ ON ONE RECORD
Leg actuals become a proposal the DOM reviews and posts. The invoice and the due list read the same numbers.
  4. A FRAT that can't stop a release

    ✕ IN THE PATCHWORK
The score is filled out in a separate tool and filed. Nothing connects it to the release, so the trip goes anyway.
    ▸ ON ONE RECORD
One FRAT engine shared by dispatch and safety. A high score blocks release until a named person mitigates or approves it.

04 · COVERAGE

Most providers cover one or two of the three.

So most small certificates end up buying from two or three of them, and stitching the gaps together by hand. Direct2 covers all three, and you can still run only the modules you need.

05 · WHAT ONE SYSTEM GIVES YOU

What works because the records are shared.

None of these is a bolt-on. Each one depends on scheduling, safety and maintenance reading the same record.

Risk that gates the release

  • One FRAT engine shared by scheduling and safety, gating the release natively.
  • The FRAT fills itself in from the trip, the weather and open MEL items on the tail.
  • Mitigation, sign-off, amendment and SIC concurrence all happen on the phone.

Maintenance dispatch can see

  • Maintenance owns MEL deferrals; dispatch, quoting and the FRAT see them in real time with countdowns.
  • Flight times reach maintenance as proposals the DOM approves, never pushed blindly.
  • Each tail chooses its system of record: keep your current tracker or move in, one tail at a time.

Duty logic for the bad day

  • The duty engine tells "can't assign" from "will exceed if it slips" from "ran long beyond your control", and adds extended rest automatically.
  • Delays, tail swaps, AOGs and cancellations are one guided step, with every effect shown before you confirm.

A safety program that's operating

  • Anonymous reporting with a two-way reply channel.
  • Corrective actions close only when verified effective.
  • The readiness indicator counts what is operating, not just what is configured.

Regulation-explicit outputs

  • 135.417 mechanical interruption summary draft and the 135.415 SDR clock. You submit; we prefill and track.
  • 5.57 interfacing notices, the NTSB 830 prompt, the 135.63(c) manifest and the 135.185 reweigh clock.

Work where the work is

  • Crew apps work with no signal on the ramp.
  • Mechanics can read records and write squawks offline in the hangar. Sign-offs, RII and return to service wait for a connection.
